How the Contest Works
• Children aged 5 to 13 are encouraged to create artwork that illustrates the theme “Oceans of Life”—a celebration of the great diversity of life found in the
world’s oceans.
• Artwork should be done on standard 8 ½ x 11” paper using markers, colored pencils, paint, watercolor, crayons or other standard art materials. We
recommend full-color artwork vs. black and white or one color.
• All entries must be received no later than June 30, 2010. To be considered, entries must include a completed entry form. Winners will be notified by July 31, 2010.
• Contest entries can be submitted to Surf Sweets in several ways:
o IN STORE: participating retailers will be collecting entries in their stores and submitting them directly to TruSweets
o BY MAIL: send your artwork directly to Surf Sweets at TruSweets LLC, Attn: Surf Sweets Art Contest, 65 E. Palatine Rd., Suite 123,
Prospect Heights, IL 60070
o ONLINE: go to www.surfsweets.com to submit your entry form and a high-quality scan of your artwork online
o VIA FACEBOOK: join our fan community on Facebook and upload your artwork and a copy of your entry form to our fan page.
• Note: original artwork will not be returned to contest entrants, so we suggest either submitting the original and keeping a copy for yourself or
submitting a high-quality color copy and keeping the original
• Contest judges will select one first prize winner and one second prize winner for each of the following age groups: kids aged 5 to 7; 8 to 10 and 11 to 13.
Rules and Regulations
• The Surf Sweets World Oceans Day Art Contest is only for kids aged 5 to 13. Only entry per child will be accepted.
• Artwork will be judged based on quality and fit with contest theme. There will be one first prize and one second prize winner by age group
(5 to 7; 8 to 10; 11 to 13).
• The artwork must be hand-drawn by the child on a standard 8 ½ x 11” paper. Artwork that uses computer-generated drawings, clip art, photographs or
video will not be accepted. Oversized artwork will also not be accepted.
• Entries must be received no later than June 30, 2010. Winners will be notified by July 31, 2010.
